Update: ‘Love and Logic’ teaches confidence, avoids anger; class offered here

Love & Logic is a common sense approach that teaches parents skills that cultivate confidence and good decision-making by offering choices, empathy and respect while adults avoid anger, threats, warnings or lectures.

I wrote about Love & Logic’s “energy drain” method to teach children when not to swear here.

Christina Rittenbach of the NDSU extension office invites parents to a course designed to help deal with misbehavior issues and a chance to network with other parents. This six week class is offered at no charge and includes light dinner and childcare. Sessions are scheduled Mondays, March 14 – April 18 at Gussner Elementary School, 1509 Fourth St. NE, Jamestown, ND from 6-8 p.m. This is a popular class that fills quickly so don’t wait, Rittenbach said. Call 701-845-8528 for additional details and to register. Register a minimum of three days prior to start date, she said.
