The next La Leche League meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the James River Family YMCA. All ladies who are, have or plan to make mommy milk should attend!
La Leche League is for women who are planning to breastfeed or already nursing. Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers, accredited by La Leche League International. The leader in J-town is Lindsey Cramer. Check out her posts on tongue-ties, nipple guards, producing enough milk and boobie bites (ouch!).
Breastfeeding is tricky… and sometimes even scary! We all need a little support sometimes, in good friends and good undergarments! Who better to recommend such apparel than someone who’s been there and nursed that?
Whether women are pregnant or already nursing, LLL offers tips and techniques shared by mothers who have enjoyed a successful breastfeeding relationship.
Services available include monthly information meetings, lending library, and phone/email help for breastfeeding problems or questions.
Feel free to bring your children as there are plenty of toys, books, dolls, etc. to keep them busy, Cramer said. Any interested women are welcome, especially expectant mothers, new moms and experienced breastfeeding moms.
Even if you aren’t breastfeeding anymore, or don’t have any questions, you are encouraged to join us, Cramer said. Come and share your support and ideas with other nursing moms. Â
If you can’t make this one, meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at the James River Family YMCA. For information contact Lindsey at 252-1274 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you there!!
